What is the significance of the official Telephone Pioneer Emblem?  Let us look at its shape - the triangular shape was adopted because of its three sides.  It symbolizes the three principal objects of the Telephone Pioneers of America - FELLOWSHIP, LOYALTY and SERVICE.

The dates "1875" and "1911" which appear at the left and right of the bell respectively, are commemorative of the experiment at Boston on June 2, 1875.  This was when Alexander Graham Bell proved his theory of the electrical transmission of speech.  November 2, 1911 was the date of organization of the Telephone Pioneers of America, at Boston, Massachusetts.+

The number "174465" which appears on the bell is the number assigned by the United States Patent Office to Alexander Graham Bell for the electric speaking Telephone.

This patent was granted to Mr. Bell on March 3, 1876, the twenty-ninth anniversary of his birth in Edinburgh, Scotland.
