First and foremost I would
like to thank all who are volunteering in their communities. Every bit
that you give back, in some way, touches an individual and makes this
world a better place to live, and I thank you for that.
Our task over the next year
will be to touch many more lives and make an impact in our communities. We
will be making an effort to reach out to Pioneers who are still employed
by Verizon and those that are retired in hopes that they will become
engaged in Pioneer projects or begin ones in their communities. We
will be reaching out to some of the smaller communities in our area that
do not get the fiscal attention that some of the larger ones might, and we
need your help in accomplishing this task.
We will align our volunteer
efforts to support our corporate sponsor’s goal of providing FTTP (Fiber
to the Premise) and FiOS (Fiber Optic Systems-Cable TV and Broadband)
services in our communities.
Please be a member. We need
your support through your Membership. Pioneer Membership is only 4 cents a
day or $1.25 per month, payroll deducted. Five dollars of your dues
goes to support the National TelecomPioneer organization and ten dollars
comes back to the local chapter to support projects in your community. If you can’t
volunteer time right now, we understand. However your Pioneer membership
dues help those that can volunteer to continue their efforts in your
community. Please become a member and help us to continue all the good
work being done on your behalf.
Visit our website often to
see what projects are coming up and how you can be involved or talk to
your local area contact listed under Key Contacts on the left.
I am looking forward to the
challenges that lie ahead and to your membership or participation in the
exciting projects we have lined up for 2007. Please join us in
making a difference in your community.
Sincerely,
Deborah Foley
