The
WJ Denver Chapter recently moved it's headquarters from Springfield, MA
to Providence, RI. The much more spacious office allows us to showcase
the chapter's collectable telephones, pictures, documents and awards.
The office took 5 months to get ready with many volunteers taking part
in it's transformation.
An Open House was held on March 22 to celebrate the move and to show off
the telephone memorabilia in our museum. Activities included a
membership drive, BJs Wholesale Club offering a reduced cost
membership/renewal, refreshments and the sale of new FiOS tee shirts and
other goods. Attendees made a donation to support a new Washington
monument honoring
Veterans who are disabled for life, while having their Polaroid taken in
a vintage phone booth. The chapter matched dollar for dollar all
donations and $290 has been donated.
It was a wonderful day remembering the old and celebrating the new. Many
thanks to everyone who attended for making the move a successful one. We
look forward opening our new location and having many visitors drop by.
