On Saturday September 23, 9 Pioneers assisted the Cast For Kids Foundation in presenting a day of fishing at Rodger Williams Park in Providence RI.   Although the day was overcast and we got rained on a couple of times, this did not dampen Pioneer spirits nor those of the children attending the event.
Unfortunately the rain kept some of the families away, but about 18 children from Trudeau Center and Make A Wish made it to the event. Pioneers assembled bags of goodies w

They were taken out onto the lake by members of the BASS fishing clubs.  Pioneers provided picture buttons and pictures as they came off the boats which were placed in wooden plaques.  Pioneers also arranged for face painting and for the Salvation Army food truck which provided morning and lunch refreshments.  Everyone had a wonderful time both attending and volunteering at this event. We look forward to partnering again next year and hope for an even bigger crowd (and sun).  see more pics...
