Walk to Cure Cancer

On September 26, 2004, The Framingham & Central Mass councils, as well as members from the local union IBEW 2325, and Verizon employees participated in the AFL/CIO’s Walk to Cure Cancer, at Umass Memorial Main Campus. The 5 mile walk went around Lake Quinsigamond, and back to Umass. Together, 30 walkers raised $4523.00 before Verizon matching gift. Thank You to all who contributed to this very important cause. Walking participants this year were Steve and Wendy Benbenek, Andrea Deschene, Sean Irr, Ann Cove, John Cove, Laurie Cove, Steve Drew and Family, Brian Riley, David Cormier, Tim and Emma Flynn, Dawn Stuller and Family, Donna Bertrand, James Hopewell, Michael Tibets, Jim Diterlizzi, Irene Nosel, Jane Sauer, Kathleen Chapalonis, Frances Hathaway, Theresa Holohan, Carol Baribeau and Ginni Mitchell. Thanks to one and all for a very successful walk for a very worthy cause.
