ArtsReach:
Building a more creative community one person at a time.
Verizon Pioneers had an opportunity reach out to the Attleboro
Museum of Art this past summer by providing continued support for
the ArtsReach program throughout the summer. Through this program,
students improve their academic and creative skills through visual
and performing arts, writing and journal keeping, while experiencing
positive support from professional artists and peers. Twenty
children from the ages of 6 to 11 participated in the summer long
program.
At
the end of this summer's program, Pioneers presented each child with
a certificate of achievement and a $20.00 gift certificate for art
supplies or back-to-school clothes. Parent's and children were given
an opportunity to share the child's accomplishments and enjoy a
light supper with the children and facilitator's of the program,
provided by the Framingham Council of Verizon Pioneers.
