The Western MA Council along with  the Tri-County and Pioneer Valley LMC's helped at the CLARKE SCHalt="Shirley and Ed Kosciol and Steve Spafford at 2005 Clarke School Auction"OOL 9th Annual All-American Sports & Leisure Auction at the new Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA, on Thursday, April 7th. Tip-off time for the two-hour silent auction was  6 p.m. A one-hour live auction immediately followed at 8 p.m.

Sports items up for bid, such as photos, baseballs, jerseys, hockey sticks and footballs signed by professional athletes and sports celebrities, competed with leisure items such as jewelry, restaurant gift certificates, theater tickets and weekend getaways.

Current items received included a David Ortiz signed jersey, a Kevin Millar signed bat, a 500 Home Run Hitters lithograph and a Super Bowl XXXVIII Patriots Touchdown scorers collage lithograph.

Last year, the auction generated $50,000 for the Clarke School Scholarship Fund and school programs thanks to the support of donors, guests, sponsors and volunteers.  I'm sure this year topped last year.  We had over 30 volunteers and all had a great time
